If you’re a fan of the HBO mega-hit TV series Game of Thrones, and you made your way to Dubrovnik, Croatia you might know already it was the citywide set for the show’s capital of Westeros; King’s Landing. Considering the famed architecture of Old Town Dubrovnik, directors of the show picked this city to portray the fortified port city of King’s Landing with as least possible usage of computer-generated imagery or CGI. Production greatly exploits the broad exterior walls and fortifications built over centuries by citizens of the Republic of Ragusa, as well as the charming narrow streets of Old Town where a considerable number of the most memorable scenes happened during the course of the show.
